How many view-only seats can I have?
On Starter, Professional and Enterprise they are free and unlimited. They let people view records and reports; they cannot edit records, save reports, change settings or be Super Admin.
It depends on how many people sell or serve customers, what you want to automate and whether you will integrate an ERP. On Professional and Enterprise, whoever works deals needs a Sales seat and whoever handles tickets a Service seat; whoever only looks things up can use view-only seats, which are free. Professional is justified by workflows and custom reports; Enterprise, by custom objects, permission sets or several brands. In Chile and Latin America, the costliest mistake is buying Enterprise to use it like Professional.
| If you need | What enables it |
|---|---|
| View records and reports without editing | View-only seat, free |
| Log contacts, companies and deals | Core seat |
| Sales tools such as forecasting | Sales seat on Professional or Enterprise |
| Workflows and custom reports | Professional |
| Custom objects or permission sets | Enterprise |
| Quotes, if you are a new customer | Revenue Hub Professional or Enterprise |
Seats define which tools each user can reach; permissions, what they can do inside them. View-only seats are free and unlimited on Starter, Professional and Enterprise: they let people view records and reports, but not edit records, save reports or change settings.
The Core seat gives access to the core features of what you bought. On Professional and Enterprise, sales and service tools require Sales or Service seats, which include Core access. Count people by what they do every day, not by the department they work in.
Starter serves small teams with a simple process. Professional adds workflows, custom reports and calculated properties, and is where most B2B companies are; from Professional the native Salesforce integration also works.
Enterprise is justified by concrete needs: custom objects, role-based permission sets, more pipelines or several brands, which also require Marketing Hub Enterprise and the Brands add-on. If nobody can name which Enterprise feature they will use in the first year, you probably do not need it.
The workflow actions to send a webhook or run custom code, which many integrations use, require Data Hub Professional or Enterprise, and custom field mappings in data syncs require Data Hub from Starter. Define the integration route before buying, not after.
Quotes moved to Revenue Hub, the product formerly called Commerce Hub: for new customers they are used with Revenue Hub Professional or Enterprise, and some features require a Revenue seat. Accounts that already had Sales Hub keep the classic quotes. In Chile, your ERP still issues the tax invoice.
Marketing contacts: Marketing Hub includes a tier and charges for additional ones, but non-marketing contacts are not billed. Onboarding: Professional and Enterprise require it at purchase, although a Solutions Partner can deliver it instead of HubSpot.
HubSpot Credits: every edition includes a monthly amount that does not roll over, consumed by AI agents, data enrichment and some workflow actions. And the contact tier does not go down mid-contract. In Chile and Latin America it pays to negotiate all of this before signing.
Six steps with your real team, not with the best-selling plan.
Who sells, who handles tickets, who does marketing, who only looks things up and who administers. That list defines the seats.
Lead assignment, deal follow-up, internal alerts, surveys. If you need workflows, you are already on Professional.
ERP, WhatsApp, quotes with e-signature: each one may require another hub or tier, such as Data Hub or Revenue Hub.
Custom objects, permission sets or several brands. If no concrete one shows up, stay on Professional.
How many contacts really receive marketing and which AI tools you will use every month.
Seats, contact tier and onboarding are discussed before signing; afterwards, the contact tier does not go down until renewal.

Not necessarily: with a Core seat you log contacts, companies and deals. Sales Hub adds sales tools, and on Professional and Enterprise whoever uses them needs a Sales seat.
If you already had Sales Hub, you keep the classic quotes. For new customers, quotes are used with Revenue Hub Professional or Enterprise, and some features require a Revenue seat.
On Professional and Enterprise, yes, at purchase. A Solutions Partner can deliver it instead of HubSpot if it meets the program conditions, such as live sessions tailored to your company.
One thousand on Starter, 2,000 on Professional and 10,000 on Enterprise, and additional tiers can be bought. Non-marketing contacts are not billed.
